My Wedding Cake for Chloe Mendel + Billy Corgan
I had the honor of making the wedding cake for Chloe Mendel and Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins for their beautiful lakeside wedding on September 16, 2023 in Chicago, Illinois. Their wedding was featured in Vogue and People magazines~ here are the links to the features:
The cake was a half-size sheet cake, 4 layers of vanilla buttermilk chiffon cake with stone-fruit jam, yuzu curd, and yuzu olive oil italian meringue buttercream. The couples tasting cake on top was a vegan/wheat-free yuzu olive oil cake with berry jam and yuzu vanilla buttercream~
I surrounded the cake with locally-sourced flowers and fruit. The fruit is from Mick Klug Farm in Michigan and the flowers are from my friend Ana's garden & my own little garden in Oak Park.
